I have used snapchat app on my iPhone X running iOS 11. I always groove on headphones or rock out with friends on a Bluetooth speaker. Sometimes the new snapchat, text or email message comes in, the playing music gets interrupted and stops playing. It is annoying that the volume suddenly ducks and a chime sounds of signal notification arrives. That also happens while I am listening to a audiobook or podcast. Any way to fix the issue on my new phone?
The app’s notifications might interrupte music playback in iOS 11 and it seems to be a bug. Here are some tips to troubleshoot that.
* If Snapchat app could not get connection in iOS 11.1, it pauses the spotify music. Snapchat team is working to fix the bug as soon as possible. The potential solution is to open spotify website in Safari browse, play the songs, and then minimize browser screen. To take control of that, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to get it in audio player.
If you would like to silence your iPhone’s alerts and keep the music playing, you could try any of the methods to resolve the problem temporarily.
* It is easy to flip the ring/silent switch on the left side of your iPhone, or tap on the mute button on the Control Center panel. All notifications and Incoming calls will be muted, while the audio still plays.
Do Not Disturb can also silence almost all notifications effectively
* Open the Settings app, go to Do Not Disturb, and slide the Manual toggle on. Then tap the Scheduled toggle, and set it to kick in automatically in at any time or during a specific time period. To get phone call from certain important people, tap All Calls From and choose which contacts you want to let.
Disable the related notifications altogether
* Head to the Settings app, tap Notifications, and toggle the sound switch to mute apps which you don’t want to be from interrupting music playback.
